Chinese Crested Powder Puff - Oscar Wilde

Wow wow wow, mommy and I saw the cutest 5 month old puppy today. Oscar Wilde is from a recessive line of Chinese Crested dogs (aka naked dogs) where they have hair! He's so darling, I wanted to take him home to play with.

Ian Dunbar on dog-friendly dog training

I was watching Ian Dunbar, a professional dog trainer recently. I think he has a lot of valid things to say and does attempt to understand us. However, my only issue is what is considered natural dog behavior. We are pack animals and there is discipline within the group. This can sometimes be a push by the alpha. So, how would Dunbar address that issue.

Over all, I think treating us with love and consideration is really all we want. So, positive reinforcement is welcomed. But, I think structure and consistency also work, especially when the owner is alpha, as mine is.

The "First Dog": Loki Lookalike

In the spring 09 the Obamas received a 6-month-old puppy as a "gift" from Sen. Ted Kennedy. Named Bo, this black/white parti-colored, Portuguese Water Dog has very similar markings to me. Bo is pictured to the left in front of the white house and I'm to the right with my "summer cut."
